Membership Commitment
A: All memberships require a minimum commitment of 26 weeks. After this period, your membership will automatically roll over to a fortnightly basis. You may cancel at any time after the initial 26 weeks by providing 30 days’ notice, effective from the end of your 26-week term. Cancellation requests must be submitted via email hello@oceanstudiopilates.com including your reason for cancelling.
Can I pause my membership?
A: Yes! You can take up to 5 weeks per year for sickness, holidays, or other approved reasons. Holds are in full-week increments and automatically resume at the end of the hold period. You must give a minimum of one weeks notice via email.
How Membership Holds Work – Weekly Increments
A: When you put your membership on hold, your contract is extended by the length of the hold, so you don’t lose any membership time.
Important: Holds are in full-week increments to keep things simple and avoid changing your regular payment schedule.
If the hold doesn’t start on your payment date-
Your next payment is pushed forward by the same number of weeks as the hold.
Example:
You pay $100 every 2 weeks on the 1st and 15th
You take a 1-week hold starting Jan 10
Your next payment (Jan 15) moves to Jan 22
All future payments shift forward by 1 week
If the hold starts on a payment date
You won’t be billed until the hold ends, and all future payments shift forward by the hold duration.
Example:
You pay $100 on the 1st of each month
You take a 1-week hold starting Jan 1
Your next payment moves to Jan 8
Future payments continue on the same schedule, just shifted by 1 week
Key Points:
Holds are full-week only.
Membership end date extends by the length of the hold.
Payments automatically shift with the hold.
Max 5 weeks per year for sickness and holiday.
Do I still pay if I stop attending?
A: Yes, payments continue until the contract ends unless an approved early exit is arranged.
Can I change my Membership type?
A: Yes - with approval, you can adjust your membership (e.g., 2/wk or 3/wk). The contract end date and billing remain the same if you are reducing unless otherwise negotiated.
How many classes should I do when starting out?
A: Start with 2–3 classes per week to get your body used to Pilates. Feeling a little sore is normal! Once you’re ready, you can easily work up to unlimited classes per week for faster results and best value.
I’m always sore after every class and I don’t feel like I’m getting stronger. Is this normal?
A: Yes! Soreness is normal, especially for beginners or anyone returning after a break. Our instructors vary your workouts to target different muscles and keep you challenged. If you don’t feel sore, it may mean your body has adapted - we can increase intensity so you keep progressing.
Strength and functional improvements happen whether or not soreness is present.
